Note 8 outgoing calls and texts fail

Hi, I have a Note 8 (N950U, bought from Boost store) that starts failing to send outgoing calls and texts. This happens every day at different times. Incoming calls and texts will come through. Reprovisioning the phone (##72786#) fixes it for approximately the rest of the day, but it will start doing the same thing again later. It's getting annoying to have to do this every day.

Firmware N950USQU8DTG1

Things I've tried that don't help:
Airplane on and off
Reset network settings
Update profile
Update PRL
Full factory reset

Reprovisioning is the only thing to help, but I don't want to have to do this every day. Anyone have any ideas?

UPDATE:
No contact from Boost, so I called 8773776504 to get straight to a human and ask about ticket status.

They asked the same old questions again, I said this is the 6th or so time I've been through these questions, then the rep said BOOST HAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE THEY CAN PUSH TO THE DEVICE.

I don't have the bum phone on me, but I will in a few hours. I'm not holding my breath, but I will call back and see if this is true.

As always, I'll update in public with the outcome. This is really frustrating for a lot of people...

Desil968,
Hang on, it'll be a few hours before I have a chance to try, but I'll update after I do.

Obviously, ignore the Boost agents on here. I'm doing my best to actually help and post in public.

UPDATE:
Boost rep lied. Turns out my borked phone has had TG3 firmware since Aug 14. It's still borked, and there is no guidance from tech support except doing the same "troubleshooting" steps that we've all done 10x.

Sorry folks.

Sorry for not replying earlier:

First things first, back up your stuff. Use Google Photos for your images or copy them to your laptop, for your messages either back up in Google Drive or as a file so you can restore, and your text messages you can find an SMS back up app. Copy your SD card and your phone contents over. Everything else should generally be in the cloud, but check each app.

You may or may not lose data, better safe than sorry!

Second: You should get the phone unlocked from Boost/Sprint. When it is successfully unlocked, it should actually say it in the menu OR you can swap the nano-SIM with that of another carrier. If it reads, then you are fine.

So, once the phone is unlocked, actually we no longer need to stick to using Boost branded software. All Samsung S8's are sold as a the G950U -- U means unlocked, and there is a little carrier identification (original software) at the end of the model number: TMB is Tmobile indicating TMobile, SPR is Sprint, BST is Boost etc etc.

A device ending in TMB comes with TMobile software and app preloaded on the device. A BST phone comes with Boost or Sprint apps preloaded.

Samsung sells a subset of phones unlocked from the start: we call these SIM free. These have a model ident of XAA and use the U1 denoted software with *no* internal carrier branding. This is what I have my other Verizon-unlocked S8 on.

Important parts:

- You would download the firmware from sammobile. It's large, and slow. You cannot downgrade the bootloader, so you need to install a firmware that matches the bootloader version.

If you have a bootloader # of 6, you can't install one with a # of 5. The software model: G950USQU7DTG2 indicated a bootloader # of 7.

Right now: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s8/firmware/SM-G950U/BST/

You can pick any of those versions there, EXCEPT the newest one to reinstalled. I'd go for 2020-03-22. That is if you want to keep the Boost firmware and files to ensure the phone works 100% on the network.

If you want to install the U1 version (ONLY UNLOCKED DEVICES): search G950U1 and use the XAA model ident. The site is down, but if you google G950U1 XAA firmware you can find the latest version.

Only issue is the U1 receives updates *dead last.* The updates are carrier controlled or forced. Samsung and only Samsung runs these. Hence why... the last update version was 06/24/2020 versus 07/30/2020 for everyone else.

The directions are actually on the side with a link to Odin 3.14.4. Your directions vary if your firmware file comes with 5 files or 1 file.  The last time I had to install stuff,

INSTRUCTIONS (5 FILES)

Download Odin v3.14.4

  1. Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:

    AP (System &Recovery)

    BL (Bootloader)

    CP (Modem / Radio)

CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)

    HOME_CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)

  2. Add each file to its respective field in Odin v3.14.4. Use CSC_*** if you want to do a clean flash or HOME_CSC_*** if you want to keep your apps and data.
  3. Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode (make sure your device is off) with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY

Other options in case first option did not work or isn't possible.

Option 2 VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP then USB cable

Option 3 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP

Option 4 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME BUTTON

Option 5 (Note9) USB cable + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY

    Option 6 (Note10) POWER + VOLUME UP

  4. Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a BLUE box will show up with the COM port number. (Be sure, the SAMSUNG-drivers are installed on your PC!)
  5. Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
  6. Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN box. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC.

INSTRUCTIONS (1 FILE)

  1. Download Odin v3.14.4
  2. Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 1 file:

    AP (System &Recovery)

  3.  Add MD5-file in AP-field in Odin
