This is just annoying boost reps keep telling me they don't have sim cards for the S21 ultra.
how were you guys able to get the new sim card?
Hi! We want to help. Would you please let us know the model of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra that you own? You should find this in settings> about phone. It usually starts with 2 letters followed by some numbers.
@LR04 call the regular contact number for boost and right away ask to be transferred to the sales department
they ordered me a sim card hopefully is the right one.

They sent me the new 5g Sim card

When will boost Mobile start activating unlocked galaxy s21. The software say it is compatible with the system but it's not accepting the sim card

But it's showing that the phone is compatible. Why the sim card not working, I think company is doing this on purpose because they want us to buy there product

Do we have any updates on this? I received my S21 ultra from Samsung on 01/27/21 and I have not been able to activate it for service.
I am in the same boat! It was so disappointing because I went to a boost mobile branch and they just thought the phone was locked so they sent me to a Samsung store. Turns out, the phone was unlock the whole time ! I went to another boost branch, they couldn’t activate the phone whatsoever. I literally wasted a day.

Seems to me they are very unprofessional in those stores
I have spent 6 hours between in person for activation, to be basically told they will call you.AFTER i inquired how if i have to send my phone back. No answers. Samsung stated it is up to boost to be prepared for releases. Boost talked in circles for hours with no solid plan. I asked if boost would then be reimbursing all of us for the trade in credit they will be charging all of us for not being able to have a working phone.
Boost said my phone was compatible this morning and I needed the sim card 416TQ then they rescued the imei and are now claiming the phone is locked!!! Whatever they did they messed up my phone.
@Alylynn612 I face same situation and I buy 416tq and 516tq sim unfortunately both not working now they said wait or transfer the line into new carrier
@Alylynn612 your phone is OK switch to another carrier or wait till April end may be they update their software.
Same situation with me they suggest to buy 516 to or 416tq sim both not compatible I spend lot of time.

The team doesn't even know what they are talking about half of the time. Speaking to them over the phone is almost impossible. They aren't informed on release date, compatibility, etc. Frankly, it's not worth saving so much money o a pre-paid service when you have to through so many loops in order to get a newly released phone activated.
Anyone else's phone saying its locked now? Mine was eligible on the byop site for boost earlier. Now its magically locked after talking with boost.
I don't know about the S21 Ultra in particular but I had a very similar problem when I got my S10E. Boost said it wouldn't work. Samsung claimed it'll work with every carrier but initially it wouldn't work. I had put the SIM card from my S7 into my S10E and kept getting different error messages. Somebody told me to get a new SIM card and my S10E worked. As far as I know the S10E wasn't on Boost's list of approved devices. It was definitely a little bit frustrating though.
same here I spent 2hrs going to 3 stores and nothing they told me that it now shows it's compatible but then they try their expanded network sim cards and it says error come on boost mobile.
In the morning I checked online to see if it's compatible and it said it was not and just now at home I checked and it says it is compatible to just buy an Expanded network sim card Idk if anyone has tried it now ?? Keep us updated
Just checked mine online and is says it's not compatible. Spent 4 hrs on the phone with Samsung and got nowhere with them
Unfortunately, calling Samsung would not word and sadly, waiting is the only option here.
Spoke to Samsung today, they stated since boost is an umbrella network, you can go to your nearest sprint location and they can activate the phone.

Spoke with Boost and they kept saying I need to try their expanded network SIM card. Anybody had this response? I feel like their customer service doesn't know what they are talking about half of the time
I was told to try the sim card 416TQ but then they rescued my imei and now they say my phone isn't compatible anymore when prior it was. ..
I tried that sim card and it did not work
@Castillo34backup how did you find that out? I hope that's true, I dont know what to do, I have 4 days to send my trade in to samsung.
I wish I could but I have a family plan and a new iPhone 12 pro max and once it's activated on boost you have to use it with them for a year, even though it's unlocked they lock it to their service once activated. So I don't really have to option of switching unfortunately.

I am so annoyed! Boost DO BETTER. I have spent my entire day on the phone trying to activate our s21's. This morning they told me to go purchase new expanded network sim cards. So I load my 2 toddlers up in the cold to go to the boost store. Finally get home and spent another 3 hours on the phone only for them to tell me I need to switch carriers or just return my phone. I already filled a complaint. Pissed is an understatement. Do you have any idea the hell of being in the phone for 3 hours with 2 toddlers. We've been loyal boost customers for almost 10 years. Hate to go but this is ridiculous.
Update: we switched to metro. Costs the same for both our lines. And the kicker is I actually get service everywhere now. I spent 20 minutes at metro and they were able to switch over our accounts and activate the phones. I'm still mad I went out of my way and bought the 2 sim cards through boost for nothing. But we went another route and are happy. Good luck everyone!
I'm going to switch today then!! I spent way too much on my damn phone not to be able to use it!! Was you able to keep your phone number? I really need to keep my number for w work.
I talked to boost again, explained how one minute my phone was compatible and then they messed with it and now it's incompatible. They just kept telling me they did nothing wrong I need a replacement phone and to use their compatibility tool. When I said their compatibility tool said my phone was compatible but customer service said it wasn't they said they have had people with this phone model activate it. I said then why can't you activate all not some. She said "There are phones of the same model that may or may not be compatible with Boost. That is why we have the compatibility tool to check it for you." I'm honestly baffled.
