Porting Phone Number from Net10

I just purchased a Boost Mobile iPhone SE online and I want to activate my Boost account first and then port my old phone number from my Net10 prepaid phone to my new Boost Mobile iPhone SE.

 

Here are my questions:

1)  Can I activate my new Boost phone with a new phone number first and test it out for a few days before porting my old Net10 phone number over to my new Boost phone?

 

2)  If the answer to the first question is "yes", can this operation be performed online using the account management webpage, or do I have to contact Boost Mobile support via phone to port the old Net10 phone number?

 

3)  Exactly what information do I need to provide to Boost from my Net10 phone to complete the phone number porting process?

The Net10 account number is the same as the 18 digit MEID/IMEI serial number of the Net10 phone.  Is this the correct number to use for the porting process (i.e. all 18 digits)?  What about the PIN number - is "0000" the correct PIN for the port or is it the last 4 digits of the NET10 phone number?

 

Please advise.

Hello. You are able to activate your new phone with a new number now and then transfer your number as needed. To activate your phone with a new number, you could visit the Boost mobile website and on the top right corner you would see a tab (activate). Tap on activate and choose option 1 (I'm a new customer and want to activate my phone) and follow the prompt.

To transfer your phone number from Net10, you would need your account number and pin code from your Net 10 account. You would go to the same active option but this time you would choose option 2 (I want to move my phone number from another carrier) and follow the prompt. Hello Victor21,

I just tried using the instructions you gave me to port my telephone number from my old phone after having already activated the new phone a few days ago.  When I go to option 2 ( I want to move my phone number from another carrier) and follow the prompt, as soon as I enter the IMEI for my new phone, the website tells me that the phone has already been activated and will not let me proceed any further.  So, I can't even get to the prompts for porting my old phone number.  Please advise as to the proper steps to port my old number AFTER my new phone has already been activated.  Thank You.
